Rachel Birt

Rachel has had dogs in her life for over fifty years, she lives in Christchurch near Bournemouth in Dorset and shares her life with five dogs and one very understanding husband.

Rachel spent twenty years working hard to gain a reputation as a responsible and reputable breeder and trainer of working dogs under her affix Raezhaven breeding first border collies and then moving to working cocker spaniels, breeding her final litter in 2017.

Rachel finally took the step to leave the service industry in 2015 and make her part-time profession a full-time career by forming Four Paws Learning and as we get set to move in to 2021 she has launched her new business Canine Scent Intelligence. Rachel's nose centred approach to training incorporates all things ACE and by combining this with scentwork and science based teaching, she provides learning and coaching experiences from One on One sessions to small intimate group courses.

Believing that you and your dog have so much to learn about each other and deserve to be the best you can be, she shares her knowledge in a nurturing and supportive way, so guardians genuinely interested in discovering the uniqueness of their dog, can learn to understand them and grow as a team.

Her drive and desire to understand all dogs and their guardians and in particular those who struggle with their mental health, has culminated in the founding of the Community Interest Company M.A.D for Dogs. Making A Difference by supporting the dogs that fill the role of companion, support or assistance dogs for those in the military or emergency services.
